Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do you accept my insurance?
A. We are currently not in-network with any insurances as we focus on assessing the body as a whole in order to determine the appropriate plan of care for our clients. Insurance restrictions prohibit us from providing the quality of care we deem necessary for effective healing and lasting results, especially when dealing with chronic pain or complex concerns. For certain treatments we can provide a Superbill with the codes you need to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement and your therapist can let you know ahead of time if this is an option for you. We do accept HSA and FSA payments.
Q. Do I need a referral from my physician to start physical therapy?
A. No physician referral is needed to get evaluated by a physical therapist. However, in Texas, a referral script is required for treatment lasting longer than 15 days. This can be obtained from a MD, DO, Chiropractor, Dentist, Podiatrist, NP, or PA anywhere in the country.
Q. I have a prescription from my doctor from earlier in the year, will this suffice for current treatment?
A. PT prescriptions are good for the same body part/injury for up to 1 year.
Q. I don’t currently have any injuries, but I would like a preventative assessment to help avoid future injury. Do I still need to get a PT prescription?
A. If you are asymptomatic, we can happily evaluate you and address your concerns with no prescription. If it turns out that you will benefit from additional PT sessions, we can send over the assessment to your physician and obtain a signed plan of care to continue with treatment as needed.
Q. Can pelvic floor therapy be helpful years after baby?
A. Absolutely! It is never too late (or too early) to gain a better understanding of your pelvic floor and how it works with the rest of your body. While pain or dysfunction are what typically bring patients to us, we also offer preventative assessments so you can help prepare for baby or simply learn how and what your pelvic floor truly does.
Q. Can pelvic floor therapy help me even if I've never had a child/don't want children?
A. 100%! The pelvic floor makes up the deepest foundation of our core. It shares muscles directly with our hips, and is affected by our feet, breathing, stress, emotional health, and much, much more. We recommend all our patients have some form of a pelvic floor assessment so that we can better support your physical body and fitness goals. Internal and external assessments are available and your therapist can discuss the value of each prior to treatment.
